Logo Usage Policy

You may use ECHO marks only if you adhere to the following guidelines for rules of proper use:

Use Complete, Unaltered Marks

The ECHO name is not only a trademark used to identify our services; it also serves as our company name. Do not alter an ECHO mark in any way; for example, it is not permissible to change the words in a mark, abbreviate marks, or add words or visual elements to a mark (including modified fonts, colors, or capitalization). For more information on ECHO's Logo Standards, please refer to www.echo-ca.org/logostandards.php.

Acknowledge ECHO's Ownership

A footnote or other legend to acknowledge that the mark is owned by ECHO should be placed at the bottom of the web page, advertisement, or publication in which the mark appears. The legend should identify the marks incorporated into your work that belong to ECHO. An example of an acceptable legend is: "ECHO and the ECHO logo are trademarks of the Executive Council of Homeowners, Inc."

When using the ECHO logo online, you must link the logo image to the ECHO web site. You can cut and paste the code below containing the approved link into your web site document:

Do Not Mislead Consumers Regarding Your Affiliation with ECHO

You must avoid the appearance or implication that ECHO's trademarks belong to you or your company, or that any affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or other relationship exists between your company and ECHO in the absence of any arrangement of that sort. If such an affiliation does exist, you may state so on the material containing the mark. For example, if your company is an ECHO Member or ECHO Associate Member, you may state that relationship.

As a member in good standing of the Executive Council of Homeowners, you have the right to use the mark in conjunction with the words: MEMBER, ECHO; MEMBER OF ECHO; MEMBER, EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF HOME OWNERS (ECHO); or MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF HOME OWNERS (ECHO). The ECHO logo and statement may be used ONLY as long as you are a member in good standing of ECHO. However, the logo and/or statement shall not be used on the face of any sales contracts or official disclosure documents provided to potential or actual clients or purchasers.

Set ECHO Trademarks Apart from Other Marks

Your name, logo, and/or trademark should appear more prominently than an ECHO mark when both are displayed on the same page, web page or other material. An ECHO trademark should not be displayed in close proximity to marks not owned by ECHO in a manner that might imply that the two marks are a single mark or somehow related, or that your company owns the ECHO mark. For example, your company's trademark should not immediately precede the ECHO mark, or vice versa. No ECHO marks or any potentially confusing variations of an ECHO mark should ever be used as part of your company name, trademark, logo or product or service name.

Merchandise Items

You may not place ECHO trademarks on merchandise (such as t-shirts, mousepads, coffee mugs, etc.) that you intend to sell or give away, unless you first obtain written permission from ECHO. To request written permission, please email ECHO.

Use of ECHO Slogans

ECHO slogans or taglines (such as "Serving Community Associations") should be treated in the same manner as any other trademark covered by this Policy.

ECHO Logo Standards

The ECHO logo may only be used to promote the interests of the Executive Council of Homeowners, Inc. and its members. To download a logo for use online, in print and other uses, please see the ECHO Logo Standards.
